Description

Rich, chewy cookies filled with Valentine colors, perfect for celebrations or gifts.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon water or brewed coffee
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 (3 to 3.5 ounce) box INSTANT chocolate pudding mix
  • 1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 cups Valentine M&Ms
  • 1/4 cup Valentine sprinkles


Instructions

  1. Chill the dough first to keep the cookies from spreading.
  2. Line a cookie sheet with a silpat baking mat or parchment paper.
  3. Cream butter and sugars in a stand mixer.
  4. Mix in vanilla, egg, and water (or coffee).
  5. Add cocoa powder and pudding mix and mix until smooth.
  6. Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  7. Add dry ingredients to wet and mix until just combined.
  8. Stir in M&Ms and sprinkles.
  9. Scoop 2 tablespoon-sized balls onto prepared sheet. Press M&Ms on top.
  10. Cover with plastic wrap and chill for at least 1 hour.
  11. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  12. Place cookies 2 inches apart on cookie sheet and press down slightly.
  13. Bake for 10-14 minutes until glossy sheen fades.
  14. Cool on sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
