Description

A cozy and aromatic cinnamon bread that captures the essence of home in every slice, perfect for breakfast or a delightful snack.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar (for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for topping)
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted (for topping)


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, yeast, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine warm milk, melted butter, and eggs.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the flour mixture, and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, then brush it with melted butter.
  8. Mix together sugar and cinnamon for the topping, then sprinkle it evenly over the dough.
  9. Roll the dough tightly into a log and place it in a greased loaf pan.
  10. Let it rise for another 30 minutes, then brush the top with melted butter.
  11. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
  12. Allow to cool before slicing and enjoy.

Notes

You can prepare the dough ahead of time and refrigerate overnight. Leftovers can be used for French toast or bread pudding.
