Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup sugar (for topping)
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for topping)
- 1/4 cup butter, melted (for topping)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, yeast, salt, and ground cinnamon.
- In a separate bowl, combine warm milk, melted butter, and eggs.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the flour mixture, and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle, then brush it with melted butter.
- Mix together sugar and cinnamon for the topping, then sprinkle it evenly over the dough.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log and place it in a greased loaf pan.
- Let it rise for another 30 minutes, then brush the top with melted butter.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool before slicing and enjoy.
Notes
You can prepare the dough ahead of time and refrigerate overnight. Leftovers can be used for French toast or bread pudding.
