A delightful dessert combining natural sweetness of berries with a crunchy topping, easy to prepare with frozen berries, and perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 6 cups mixed frozen berries (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, strawberries)
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 3 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp lemon juice (fresh)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 cup old-fashioned oats
- ¾ cup all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup brown sugar (packed)
- ½ cup cold butter (cubed)
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking dish by greasing it lightly.
- In a large bowl, mix the frozen berries with granulated sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, vanilla extract, ½ tsp cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
- In another bowl, combine the old-fashioned oats, flour, brown sugar, cubed cold butter, ½ tsp cinnamon, and ¼ tsp salt. Use your hands to mix until crumbly.
- Spread the berry mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish. Then, sprinkle the oat topping over the berries.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden and the berries are bubbling around the edges.
- Allow it to cool before serving to enhance the flavors.
Notes
Best served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Can be stored in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
