Delicious Stuffed Shells with Cottage Cheese are a perfect comfort food packed with a healthy mix of cheeses, ideal for family meals and gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 12 large pasta shells
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  4. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  5. Stuff each shell with the cheese mixture and place them in the baking dish.
  6. Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the stuffed shells.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, until bubbly and golden.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil if desired and serve hot.

Notes

For added flavor, mix in chopped spinach or cooked ground meat into the cheese mixture. You can also add red pepper flakes for some spice.
