A delicious combination of ground beef and crunchy cabbage, flavored with soy sauce, ginger, and garlic, perfect for quick weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium head of cabbage, shredded
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt, to taste
  • 2 stalks green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ingredients: Start by gathering all your ingredients together. Chop the onion, mince the garlic, and shred the cabbage.
  2. Cook the beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook it until browned, breaking it up with a spoon, which should take about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the vegetables: Once the beef is cooked, add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the onion becomes translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Incorporate the cabbage: Add the shredded cabbage to the skillet. Stir well and let it cook down for about 5 minutes or until the cabbage is tender.
  5. Flavor the dish: Stir in the soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), sesame oil, grated ginger, black pepper, and salt. Mix everything well and let it cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  6. Garnish and serve: Remove from heat and sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

Adjust seasoning to taste; add more veggies for crunch.
